French beauty products displayed in a french bathroom

When I travel I like to discover new beauty products and I often bring them home as souvenirs. I think one can learn a lot about a country by it’s beauty criteria and hence the beauty products that are on display. When I went to Singapore recently, the emphasis was on perfect complexions and there were hundreds of different masks each with a different beauty promise.

Whenever I come to France, there are certain “beauty souvenirs” that I always pick up. Sometimes just the scent of a common Savon de Marseille can bring back memories of a trip.

Here are a few of my French favorites and ones that I have come to trust to keep their beauty promises.

Nuxe huile prodigieuse

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse- It’s scent is so adored that they have even come out with a perfume. This oil is really multipurpose and can be used as a body moisturizer, for the face and even for dry hair at the ends. It reminds me of summer whenever I use it. This year I have found a new limited edition bottle to add to my collection.

Bioderma Hydrabio

Bioderma- This brand is wonderful for skincare. Of course as any discerning makeup artist, I love the miscellaire water, crealine, for removing makeup with one swipe. I always keep some in my pro makeup kit and also for personal use. It makes removing makeup at the end of the day very quick.

This year they have come out with a new product that I think is genious. It is a fine water spray that protects against UV. Have you ever wondered how you can reapply your sunscreen if you already have on your makeup? With this you can spray directly over your makeup and it is so light and invisible that it does’t distrurb the makeup underneath. SPF 30 and refreshing, it is perfect for refreshing throughout the day.

Leonor Greyl- I love these hair products that smell beautifully and I always pick up some huile de palme that is a great treatment pre-shampoo. If your hair is feeling like straw after a summer of sun and sea this repairs and conditions. I also use the after shampoo spray Algues et Fleurs to help strengthen the hair.

Savon à l'huile d'olive Bouteille de savon de Marseille liquide

Savon de Marseille- These large square soaps last forever and look chic in any bathroom or even kitchen. There is also savon marseille in a liquid form in a very chic bottle.

Do you have any French beauty products that you swear by?
