At the moment I’m writing this post from Singapore, the other side of the world quite literally from Miami! It’s also 13 hours ahead and so now it’s morning of the next day but still the evening of the previous day in Miami. Sound confusing? Well add jet lag to the mix and you can imagine feeling the strange way I do.

I wanted to share with you all the wonderful shopping for beauty products that can be done here! If you ever get the chance to go to Singapore (or Japan, Korea) you will see the great emphasis placed on beauty products. All the large department stores have the typical beauty counters on the ground floor but they also have loads of shops on other floors of the malls and even on the basement floors leading to the subway. There is no end of choices!

Here’s a quick tour:

sheet masks from Innisfree and The faceshop Korea

The Faceshop

Similar in style to the Body Shop this brand combines nature in the product offerings that range from every type of sheet mask you can imagine to skin care products, and makeup. I’m a big fan of their masks of course and they have some great BB creams and cushion compacts as well.

Innisfree

Korean brand Innisfree also has a natural theme to their products. The shop is open, clean and organized. They also have great sheet masks and skin care products. Each line is based on a particular element found in nature, they even had wine masks for smooth skin!

Etude house

This adorable shop all decked out in pink looks like a big cake. The makeup products here are fantastic even though the packaging may make you feel very girly and perhaps like you’ve regressed to childhood.

Tokyu Hands

This amazing Japanese shop has so many gadgets that you never thought you needed until you see them. Everything from the kitchen to the bathroom and in between. You could really spend hours in here. They also have a plethora of cosmetics from Japan. There are so many choices that unless you really know what you want, it would take hours to choose.

Korean makeup products

Sasa

Like a cross between Sephora and a CVS, this store carries many brands of makeup and cosmetics as well as skin care, body and hair care. They also carry many european brands as well and I found my coveted Nuxe body oil here for a very good price.

There are also many Korean and Japanese cosmetic brands represented at the beauty counters like Laneige, SKII, Sulwhasoo, RMK, and Tony Moly.

On tuesday I’ll post my Singapore beauty haul…still need time to try them all out! The 24 hour flight should leave me plenty of time. Beauty treatments and movies at 30,000ft!
