Chateau La Coste

Thanks to my friend Tamara, I discovered many little gorgeous places scattered along the Mediterranean (read my post last week). She also brought me The Chateau La Coste with excellent service…

Chateau La Coste :  Artists et Art

The idea was born in 2004 in the heart of the vineyards of Château La Coste: create a special place where art, architecture and land can be in perfect harmony. Artists and architects from around the world were invited to visit the Château La Coste and explore the beauty of the landscape.
The opportunity was given to them to choose a place on the estate that they would particularly love and to create a work which would then take life at this location. Today, the Château La Coste brings together wine, art and architecture, and continues to evolve as new projects and facilities develop. Château La Coste also has the pleasure of organizing cultural events such as concerts, film screenings, outdoor art performances … Visitors are invited to spend a few hours walking through the wooded slopes of the estate, among the vines on a journey to discover works of contemporary artists and architects.

In keeping with with biodynamic principles, the Château La Coste strives to preserve the land, protecting its fertility, and safeguarding the essence of its soils.

The magic of the wine creation takes place in a new generation winery developed by the great French architect Jean Nouvel, opened during the harvest of 2008.

This new technology ensures the natural expression of the wine and breathes new life into a long tradition.

In 2009, the wines of Château La Coste were labeled “Organic Farming” a label that recognizes respect for the land and methods in harmony with nature.
