Back to school? Back to work, or are you back to dropping the kids at school before work?

Whatever your hectic schedule, you need an effective makeup strategy to get you out the door and ready to face the world.

Multitasking products such as BB creams and cheek and lip cream sticks that are easy to apply are really useful when every minute counts. Foundation sticks that can double as a concealer and tinted lip balms that can give moisture and color are great time savers.

Five minute makeup : My quickest routine when I have very early call times.

  •  a BB cream followed by a concealer under the eyes. ( Urban DecayNaked Skin BB cream. Cle de peau stick concealer)
  • A quick curl of the eyelashes and a swipe of mascara. ( L’Oreal Voluminous mascara. Shu Uemuera Eyelash curler)
  • A dab of cream blush and a slick of tinted lip balm. ( Kevin Aucoin cream blush in Pravella. Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm in several shades)
  • A quick brush through the eyebrows.

This routine I can practically do in the dark ( though I don’t recommend it!) I have taken the time to find the products that work for my skin tone and help me look more awake so that my routine is quick.

Quick Polished  makeup: If I have a little more time and want to look more polished I add to the basic five minute routine.

  • Add a cream color to the lids (L’Oreal Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe)
  • Run a dark eyeliner along the top lash line. ( Lancome Le Crayon Khol in Black Coffee or Black)
  • A touch of loose powder ( Makeup forever HD Powder)
  • My favorite red lip finishes off the look. (Nars in Fire Down Below or Burt’s Bees lip shimmer in Raisin)

Take the time before your schedule gets out of hand and find the products that work for you. You and you alarm clock will thank you!

I would love to hear what you do in the morning and what are your go to products. Leave your comments below this post. I can’t wait to hear from you!

  1. Such an adorable picture!
And I am definitely on board the BB cream train – it’s such a easy, mistake-proof beauty booster! A little mascara and some Burt’s Bees and I’m out the door!

    • Hi Sara, that’s a great question.Depending on your age, (middle school, high school, university) you could add progressively more makeup. There is nothing worse for me to see than beautiful young girls covering up their gorgeous young skin!Try to find a concealer you really like and use that just to cover up any blemishes or imperfections you may have. You could even get a tinted moisturizer or sheer BB cream if you would like. With your fingers tap a little cream blush on the apples of your cheeks and maybe add some mascara. Of course a little lipgloss is always fun. If you feel you need a little touch up if you get shiny, bring a small compact powder in your bag to school.Let your inner radiance shine through! I hope that helps.
P.S. If you are worried about pimples, there are medicated concealers you can buy to help heal the spot and cover at the same time.( try Neutrogena)
