We are so excited to share with you are first guest post from blogger Suzanne Koceva. She hails all the way from Sydney, Australia! Since Mercedes Benz fashion week just wrapped up in Australia, we thought we could bring you some insight about fashion from down under. I think it’s interesting to note that it is the Spring /Summer 2014-2015 collection which is actually Fall/Winter for us, but because their seasons are opposite to ours… well you get the picture.
Suzanne studied photography as CATC Design school – The Rocks, Sydney in 2010. She is currently completing a Communications degree with a journalism major. A lover of words, Suzanne is forever adding books to her extensive collection and would one day love to own a home library. Suzanne sees fashion as a form of art exhibited on humans and loves to spend her days people watching whilst sipping coffee on the streets of Sydney. Crown Street being a favourite. Saturdays are spent hunting vintage and unique pieces at the local fashion markets all whilst capturing creative human beings through the lens of her camera.

“Fashion, words, humans, art, good food, coffee and the beautiful souls in my world are what make my life a colourful wonder” Suzanne

MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK AUSTRALIA SPRING SUMMER 2014-2015

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia Spring/Summer 2014 – 2015 wrapped up down under in Sydney last week. Below are some of the trends that will be hitting the Australian shores this coming Spring / Summer and this is what you need to know…..

BACK TO BASICS – MONOCHROME

This year we saw a lot of black and white pieces as opposed to years before when the runway was dominated with colors and patterns. Do not be fooled into thinking black and white is a boring mix, with the right cut, it oozes sophistication and style, and makes more of a bolder pop than color. Carla Zampatti owned monochrome on the runway this year.

SKIN – RETURN OF THE CROP

Crop tops – they made an appearance back in the 90’s but on this year’s runway, they were back. Paired with asymmetrical skirts, tailored pants or incorporated into a maxi, they are making their mark on the runway and into your spring / summer wardrobe. Alex Perry, Bianca Spender and Dion Lee were just a few of the designers that sported the crop in their collection.

DOWN BELOW – PLUNGING NECKLINE

Carla Zampatti, Christopher Esber and Ginger and Smart are the stand out designers that worked the plunging necklines on the runway this year. Whether it’s a crisp white shirt with tailored pants, a fitted blazer, pants jumpsuit or gorgeous floor length gown, they all seemed to have the feminine and sexy plunging neckline in common. Get ready ladies, it’s time to show some skin

Les looks monochromes sont toujours très élégants.
